Obtaining car insurance quotes in South Africa

In the past, obtaining a motor vehicle insurance quote would mean having to visit individual car insurance providers in person, which was a tiresome and tedious task. Obtaining fully comprehensive motor vehicle insurance for your car should not be that difficult. Now, thanks to the increasing popularity of the internet, it is not. Now using the internet to look for insurance quotes is as easy as logging on to a website that lists all the available car insurance quotes on one page. This makes comparing prices and levels of cover so much easier for the customer as they can instantly see what each insurance company has to offer. This is a much better alternative than having to travel around to different insurance company offices in order to obtain a quote for their insurance cover.

Here are some tips on how to get car insurance quotes.

Firstly, you will need to get as many insurance quotes from as many different companies as you can. The reason for this is that there are many insurance companies out there who would like your business and they will all differ in some way. Therefore, you need to take your time to look at what each company has to offer you in exchange for your hard earned cash.

Secondly, when the time comes to fill in the form that requires your information in order to provide you with a list of quotes, make sure that all of the information that you provide is as accurate as it possibly can be. This is because motor vehicle insurance quotes provided by insurance companies can only be as detailed and accurate as the information that you have supplied.

Next up is the problem of how to deal with the salesmen who will call you once they know that you are on the look out for car insurance quotes. These salesmen will be quite persuasive and it can be difficult to not accept the terms that they have to offer, however, you should not let yourself be bullied into taking the first offer that comes along. Try to be polite but determined that you want to look at the quotes of other companies before you make your final decision. Tell them in a nice, but firm way that you are not yet through with your research and that if you wish to take them up on their offer that you will make contact with them in the near future. These salesmen are typically paid on commission and they may persist in their attempts to sign you up to their company, just reaffirm that you will not be making a decision today.

Finally, make sure that you are the one person tasked with finding the right motor vehicle insurance quote for your vehicle. You are the customer and you are the one in control, do not let an insurance company give you an attractive quote only to change it when the time comes to filling in the paperwork. There are many insurance companies out there and if one company tries to change the deal, leave and look elsewhere.

Third party or comprehensive insurance?

Posted on by

Motor vehicles are without doubt one of life’s necessities rather than the luxury item that they used to be many decades ago. That is why car insurance is also a necessity, as it helps to prevent the car owner from having to pay potentially huge sums of money in the event of theft or damage. Most cars in South Africa are covered by third party insurance which covers fire and theft. If you want a more comprehensive insurance policy, there are many insurance companies out there.

Third party insurance is fine if you have to stick to a budget; however, this type of cover is not going to cover you for the costs of damage caused by having a road traffic accident that was your fault. If you want to make sure that there are no hefty repair or compensation bills about to head your way, then you should opt for a comprehensive motor vehicle insurance policy.

Car insurance quotes can be obtained from many different insurance companies that specialize in providing motor vehicle insurance policies. Car insurance quotes are an estimate of the cost of covering your motor vehicle against loss and damage and is provided free of charge (if a company wants you to pay for an insurance quote, politely decline and move on) to the vehicle owner.

With everyone looking to save money due to the difficult global financial situation, a lot of people are looking to make substantial savings when the time comes to renew their motor vehicle insurance. That is why you need to compare as many quotes as you can, from as many different motor vehicle insurance companies as possible. That way you will have a clearer picture of who can offer you the best deal on your car insurance.

The best (and by far the easiest) way to compare multiple car insurance quotes, is to look on the internet. There are more and more companies that are dealing with their customers, exclusively online and this can be a great money saver. Because they are doing all of their business online they have less expenses and this means that they can offer better discounts on car insurance policies.

Car insurance is great as it helps to protect your car from unwanted damage or loss and this is especially true if your car is your only means of getting around. If you were to lose your car, then without adequate insurance, you may not be in a position to replace it.

Thanks to the internet, it is now easier than ever before to compare motor vehicle insurance quotes from a number of different motor vehicle insurance companies. With so many different companies out there vying for business, it is no wonder that the cost of motor vehicle insurance is fast becoming a better value for the money. This amount of competition can only be good for the consumer and is leading to an upsurge in the amount of discounted insurance policies that the average person can choose from.

Shop Around For Your Car Insurance Quotes

Posted on by

Car owners in South Africa should be aware that fully comprehensive motor vehicle insurance is not as expensive as they might think, if you know where to look. So how do you go about searching for the best car insurance quote?

When it comes to motor vehicle insurance, searching for a policy that suits both your needs and your budget can seem a bit daunting. There are a few things that you will need to think about when it comes to searching for car insurance quotes online.

Firstly, you will need to take your time and do not opt for the first tempting car insurance quote that you come across. Using a website that allows you to compare quotes from a number of different companies is a good place to start, as they will list the outline details of what each insurance company has to offer, all on one page. Once you have found one or two insurance quotes that catch your eye, then you can click on the link that will take you to a page that will list the full details of what that particular insurance company has to offer.

Motor vehicle insurance companies will offer differing quotes and some companies will offer the same policies for less money. Furthermore, there are companies that will allow you to pay your monthly premiums via the internet. This can help you to avoid the unnecessary cancellation of your policy due to your latest payment getting lost in the post.

When searching for car insurance quotes on the internet you will probably be surprised by just how much each company’s policies differ from one another. Some will offer discounts for having more than one car on the same policy whilst others will reward older or safer drivers with a lower premium.

If you have a poor driving record or are below a certain age (typically 25) you may find that most of the motor vehicle insurance quotes you receive will be quite high. Insurance companies do this in order to offset the risk of paying out on a premium, which for someone who is a careless or inexperienced driver is likely to happen. Insurance companies do not like to pay out, but they are more than happy to take your money. If they think that there is a high risk of them having to pay out on an insurance premium in the future, you can expect to be paying a lot more money than an older safer driver.

If you already have a fully comprehensive motor vehicle insurance policy with an insurer, and it is up for renewal, then you may find that you can negotiate a lower monthly premium if you have been with them a long time and not made a claim. Of course, they are under no obligation to provide you with a cheaper monthly premium, and it is for that reason that you should be prepared to look elsewhere in order to save yourself some money.

Save On Car Insurance Without Losing Coverage

Although motor vehicle insurance is not required by law in South Africa, it makes sense to have your vehicle covered against the number of different things that can happen to it. This includes theft, malicious damage or damage caused as a result of a collision. The basic form of insurance is third party insurance, but this is limited to only covering very basic problems and you could be left with having to pay for another motor vehicle out of your own pocket when things go wrong. Fully comprehensive car insurance is better, however, it is going to come at a price, and it can be considerably more expensive than the basic level of car insurance.

When the time comes to start searching for a motor vehicle insurance policy then you need to consider all of the alternatives. There are many insurance companies who are in a position to offer you cheap car insurance, and this means that finding the best one for you can be a bit tricky, not to mention time consuming. Most car insurance companies will be able to offer you a discount if you have an accident free driving history and this can save you a lot of money compared to a younger driver who has had one or two or more accidents in the past. When you get different quotes from many different companies then you have the choice of which one suits your needs. Additionally, most motor vehicle insurance companies will be able to offer you cheaper premiums if you sign up to one of their policies online, as this cuts down the need for endless paperwork.

No matter how cheap the quote is, you need to make sure that you fully understand the level of coverage you are going to receive in exchange for your hard earned cash, before signing on the dotted line.

Cheap car insurance in South Africa is also cheaper when you want to insure more than one motor vehicle at the same time. Most motor vehicle insurance policies companies will offer bigger discounts for each extra vehicle that you add to your policy when you sign up with them.

One of the best ways in which to keep the cost of your motor vehicle insurance costs down is to make sure that you have a clean driving history. Things such as having a lot of collisions or being in trouble with the police for motoring offenses can mean that it can be extremely difficult to obtain cheap car insurance.

One final way of lowering the costs of your motor vehicle insurance premiums, is to make sure that your car or motor vehicle is secured when unattended. Fitting anti-theft devices such as, alarms and steering wheel locks can reduce the risk of your vehicle being stolen and this in turn will allow the insurance company to lower your insurance premiums.

With a little bit of time and effort on your part, you can get the cheapest car insurance quote for your vehicle without sacrificing your level of coverage.

Obtaining affordable motor vehicle insurance online

Posted on by

Motor vehicle insurance in South Africa means having at least the minimal amount of coverage against theft. However, if you want an insurance policy that covers you for more than that, then you need to have fully comprehensive car insurance. Fully comprehensive motor vehicle insurance can be on the expensive side, and for that reason, a large percentage of motor vehicle owners in South Africa, shy away from opting for higher coverage.

Fully comprehensive motor vehicle insurance makes more sense. Yet, when your car becomes involved in an accident, you may find that the amount of money received from your insurance company, does not go anywhere near covering the cost of the repair bill.

When it comes to finding suitable and affordable car insurance quotes, it makes much more sense to begin your search online, as you will be able to compare prices side by side if you use a comparison website. Additionally, there will be an opportunity to study and read the feedback and views of the people who have already dealt with the company in question. That way you will be able to garner an understanding of just what kind of customer service they can offer, as well as the amount of different premiums and their costs and coverage and so forth.

Cheap and affordable car insurance is not always the best answer and you will have to make sure that what you are paying for, gives you a good level of coverage for when the worst happens and your car is involved in an incident. After all, you do not want to pay money for a motor vehicle insurance policy that does not cover your motor vehicle if you are involved in an accident. The least you can expect to get from a basic motor vehicle insurance policy, the absolute bottom line, is to be covered against theft, fire, and collisions.

One way of lowering the amount you are expected to pay every month for your car insurance premium, is to raise the amount of the excess on your policy. If you are not sure what the excess is, it is the amount of money that the insurance company will expect you to pay towards the costs of any claim you make on your policy. Typically this will start at around 500 Rand but the higher you set it, the less you will be expected to pay on your insurance premium.

Trying to find a cheaper car insurance policy can be a bit daunting for those people who are not used to looking at multiple car insurance quotes from many different companies. That is why you need to take some time in order to make sure that you understand all of the details and small print that is usually involved with signing up for an insurance policy. If you are not careful you could end up signing up for a motor vehicle insurance policy that is totally unsuitable for your needs as well as costing you too much money.

Getting The Best Insurance Quote For Your Car

The majority of car owners often dream of having cheaper car insurance premiums, but they are unsure how they can go about it and just end up signing up for the first policy that gives them the coverage they think they need. It does not have to be this way though, as South Africa has a number of insurance companies that are in a position to offer cheap car insurance quotes if you know where to look.

Some people have been known to shy away from signing up for the cheapest motor vehicle insurance policies, because they are worried that they will not get the level of coverage they require, or that there will be hidden charges. Although it can be said that there are some less than reputable insurance companies out there who will offer what looks like a cheap car insurance policy, only to have hidden charges to make it more expensive in the long run. There are many insurance companies in South Africa that are more than capable of offering cheap car insurance without any nasty hidden expenses popping up after you have signed on the dotted line. So long as you take a bit of time to do some research and look at each policy and insurance quote in detail, then you should avoid falling into the trap of signing up for an insurance policy that is more expensive than you thought.

On top of doing some research, it is well worth remembering that you can also save money if you belong to a certain demographic, such as a student or a senior citizen. Plus, you will find that most motor vehicle insurance companies will be in a position to offer you a discount on your premiums if you have a clean driving history. If you have never had a collision or been in trouble with the police for motoring offenses, such as speeding or driving whilst under the influence of alcohol, then you will find that most motor vehicle insurance companies will look favourably on this.

Another element that can affect the amount of money that you can expect to pay, for your car insurance premium, is the type of car that you are driving. If you own an expensive car, such as a luxury car or a sports car then you will be expected to pay more for your insurance, and this is for the reason that your car is more likely to be prone to vandalism and theft. This means that the cost of replacing the car, or indeed, repairing any damage, will be considerably higher than for a smaller, less expensive car.

Lastly, you should be able to reduce the cost of your motor vehicle insurance premiums by fitting anti-theft devices to your car. Items such as, alarms and immobilisers, are a good way of lowering the risk of the theft of your motor vehicle, and thus reducing the amount of money that you can expect to pay for your insurance premiums. Insurance costs are all about risk, and if you can lower the risk of theft and damage to your motor vehicle, then your insurance company should be more willing to offer you a lower insurance cost.

Finding cheap car insurance is not as hard as you might think

One of the worst errors of judgement that any driver can make when it comes to taking on a car insurance policy is to have a premium that costs a lot of money, only to discover a few days later that there is another policy that matches theirs but is much cheaper. Of course, in South Africa there are a large number of people still driving around without any kind of motor vehicle insurance. This is because, motor vehicle insurance is not mandatory in South Africa as it is in other countries around the world. Most people who are travelling around without adequate motor vehicle insurance give the explanation that the cost of the monthly or yearly premiums is too high. That can be true but on the other hand, having insurance can negate the need for costly repair bills when the worst happens and you have an accident.

There are many motor vehicle insurance companies out there who are now offering more reasonable rates for those who are looking to insure their car, but who are restricted by a tight budget. Thanks to the growing popularity of the World Wide Web, more and more insurance companies are now in a position to sell their cover online and this can also help to keep the cost of the monthly premiums down.

There are certain groups who are going to find that their insurance quotes are fairly high and these include, drivers under the age of 25 and those drivers who are deemed to be of poor standard. Both of those groups can expect to pay more for their monthly premiums than older drivers and those who have had very few or no accidents at all.

When it comes to cheap car insurance in South Africa, there are one or two things that you can do to lower the amount of money that you can expect to pay each month. For example, as with most other kinds of insurance, you will be expected to pay an “excess”. The excess is the amount of money that you will be expected to pay towards the cost of repairing your motor vehicle should you have an accident. Only when you have paid this excess will the insurance company then payout and cover the rest of the repair bill. By setting your excess to a higher amount when you first take out the car insurance policy, you will find that this lowers the amount you are expected to pay towards the premium each month.

Another way to reduce your monthly payments is to negotiate with your existing insurance provider if you already have one. If you have had an insurance policy for a long time with the same company and not made a claim, you are in a good position to negotiate a special reduced rate when your policy is up for renewal. Threatening to leave them for another company that can provide the same cover for less will usually spur your existing insurance company to match that offer in order to keep you as a customer.

Comparing Car Insurance Quotes

If you are searching for cheap car insurance quotes, then you will need to think about which insurance companies are in a position to be able to offer you the best deals. Having your own personal motor vehicle insurance is important when you are driving in South Africa as you need to make sure that you are covered against any unwanted damage to your car.

There are a lot of different companies out there who are currently in a position to offer competitive rates for motor vehicle insurance. Trying to negotiate through all of the information and data can sometimes be a bit of a chore, not to mention, confusing. As it is, a lot of people end up paying more than they need to for their motor vehicle insurance and this is because trying to find the best deal can be difficult.

Most of the different motor vehicle insurance companies will offer a wide variety of car insurance plans, depending on the vehicle size and proficiency of the driver. It is important to make sure that you provide the insurance company with as much detailed, up-to-date and honest information that you can, as this will allow them to tailor the insurance quote to suit your situation.

You can also search for those insurance companies that have offers and discounts for drivers who have an accident free driving history, because safer drivers are deemed as less of an insurance risk. However, just because you have an insurance policy at a discounted price, does not mean that you automatically have the best policy. This is something that you will need to look into before signing on the dotted line. Check the insurance policy against those of other companies in order to be completely sure that you are about to sign up for the best insurance policy for you. Get plenty of car insurance quotes, as many as you can, as this will help you to find out which one will suit your circumstances best.

Some insurance companies will also offer discounted motor vehicle insurance policies for students as well as women drivers. So if you fall into this category then it is worth asking for any special discounts that they might be offering for your demographic.

Finding the best value motor vehicle insurance policies in South Africa is all about comparing prices. The only way that you will be able to do this successfully is to make sure that you can get hold of as many quotes, from as many different insurance companies, as possible. Ask them about their special discounts for older, student or female drivers and keep comparing, in order to find the best deal for your motor vehicle insurance needs. No one wants to pay too much for their motor vehicle insurance and neither should you, as signing up to the wrong policy is going to cost you more money in the long run as well as maybe even leaving you without adequate cover for your car.

With motor vehicle insurance not compulsory in South Africa, there are going to be a lot of uninsured drivers on the road and therefore the chances of being involved in an accident with an uninsured driver are quite high. When you have an accident in your vehicle and you do not have insurance, then you are going to have to pay for the entire bill to rectify the damages yourself.

However, if you have motor vehicle insurance on your car then you will not be liable to pay the full amount of the repairs. Acquiring cheap car insurance in South Africa is not as difficult or problematic as you might think and there are a number of companies out there who are willing to offer an insurance policy that is affordable for most people who are sticking to a budget.

When you are thinking about obtaining cheap car insurance then it is a good idea to do some research first in order to compare prices and levels of cover available. Therefore, making use of the internet is a great way to compare the cost of insurance premiums and levels of cover. There are many websites out there that will list quotes from many different companies on the same page, and this will make comparing quotes so much easier.

There are one or two ways in which to lower the monthly payments on your motor vehicle insurance. The first is to raise the amount of excess when you first take out the insurance cover. The excess is the amount of money you will be expected to shell out when you have the misfortune of having an accident. The insurance company will deduct the amount of the excess from the total cost of repairs and then pay the rest. For example, if your excess is 500 Rand and the cost of the repairs to your car come to 1500 Rand, and then the insurance company will pay 1000 Rand. Raising the amount of your excess will help to lower the amount you will be expected to pay for your premium each month.

With some research and effort you will be able to obtain cheap car insurance that will provide you with a level of cover that you need for a price you can afford.

Cheap motor vehicle insurance quotes

When taking out a new motor vehicle insurance policy, one of the biggest errors of judgment that most motor vehicle owners make, is that they end up paying large sums of money for an insurance policy that is totally unsuitable. On top of which, they may have failed to notice that their insurance policy could have been purchased elsewhere for much less money. This occurs because they did not shop around and just went with the first company that came along.

Looking for cheap car insurance can be a time consuming process, as there are many companies in South Africa that are offering motor vehicle insurance policies. That means that it can be difficult to navigate through the maze that is motor vehicle insurance policies and their terms and conditions. Trying to find the cheapest car insurance policy that best suits your needs means taking your time and making the effort to really look at what companies are providing the cover you need, for the lowest price.

Your first course of action, when it comes to looking for the cheapest motor vehicle insurance for your car, is to make a list of as many of the motor vehicle insurance companies as you can find. Look on the internet for the national companies, but also, do not neglect the smaller, regional companies, who may be able to offer good deals to local people. You should look for these companies in your local business pages or telephone directory. That way you will have a list that has a nice mix of local as well as national motor vehicle insurance companies.

Next, you should work through your list, one company at a time, and obtain as many quotes as you can for the insurance policy that best suits your, age, motor vehicle and driving history. Then once you have motor vehicle quotes from all of the companies on your list, you can begin to compare the prices of their cheapest quotes against each other, as well as the amount of insurance cover that you will receive.

Once you have narrowed down your motor vehicle insurance policy list, down to one or two companies, you can then make contact with them and begin negotiating as you may even be able to get the cheapest quote even cheaper. It is not uncommon for motor vehicle insurance companies to try and raise the cost of your insurance policy quote when speaking to you in person. They may try and say that the information you provided them was incomplete, and that the quote you received was lower than it should be. That is why you need to make sure that when you provide the information for your car insurance quote that you give the most accurate information in order to get the most accurate quote. Bargaining with the motor vehicle insurance company will enable you to get the lowest price possible in return for the best level of coverage that you and your car need.

Cheap fully comprehensive insurance cover for your car

Posted on by

There are a lot of uninsured motor vehicles on the roads of South Africa at the moment and this is for the reason that motor vehicle insurance is not mandatory in the Republic at the present time. Most uninsured drivers will state that they find motor vehicle insurance premiums are too costly and that they cannot afford to make the monthly payments. Therefore, a lot of drivers would rather take a gamble and hope that they do not have a serious car accident in the future, rather than spend a little bit of money each month for that added peace of mind that comes with knowing that you are fully insured. They would rather rely on the state’s Road Accident Fund that automatically gives them third party insurance.

The problem with the third party insurance provided by the Road Accident Fund is that it will only cover a small amount of incidents that you may come across as a car owner. There is only one way to guarantee that you are fully covered against all possibilities and that is to obtain fully comprehensive cover from a specialist car insurance company.

Most uninsured drivers will say that finding cheap car insurance in South Africa is not an easy task and for that reason they are more than happy to take their chances and rely on the third party insurance provided by the Road Accident Fund. There are many companies out there who are currently offering great deals on fully comprehensive motor vehicle insurance. Searching online is a great way to locate cheap car insurance in South Africa and there are many websites out there that will do all the work for you, comparing prices and levels of cover and listing them all on one page.

Relying on the Road Accident Fund is a huge risk to take if you have the means to pay for fully comprehensive insurance, because not only is the amount of cover limited, if the accident is your fault, then you are still going to be subjected to litigation by the other party. This could then lead to you having to pay huge sums of money to the person with whom you collided, and if they have received injuries as a result of the collision then the cost is going to be even higher.

The only way to avoid this potential scenario is to take out a fully comprehensive motor vehicle insurance policy that will provide you with the peace of mind that comes with knowing that you are covered against all eventualities.

Finding cheap car insurance in South Africa is not as much of a chore as you might think. Whereas making a claim through the Road Accident Fund can be a long, tedious and not to mention complicated process, searching for an insurance company is as easy as looking on the internet.

With a little bit of time and patience you can easily find the right comprehensive insurance policy that will give you full cover at a price you can afford.

Tips on acquiring affordable car insurance

If you are worried that you are not getting the best deal possible on your car insurance, then you are not alone, as many people often find themselves in the same situation. Most car owners do not realise that they are actually paying way too much for their motor vehicle insurance and that finding a cheaper deal is not as problematic as they have been lead to believe.

The best way to find cheap car insurance in South Africa is to compare car insurance quotes from a number of different providers. This is a task that is best completed with the help of the internet as it will save you time and energy, unlike the alternative of contacting or visiting each insurance company in turn. More often than not, most motor vehicle insurance companies will be able to offer differing car insurance policies depending on the age, vehicle and driving history of the applicant.

Another way to lower the costs of your car insurance premiums is to make sure that if you have more than one motor vehicle, that you insure them all with the same insurance provider. By doing this, they can offer you a discount for placing all of your motor vehicles on one policy. Or alternatively, if you do not have more than one car, if the insurance company also offer insurance on other items, such as home or content, then by switching all of your insurances to one company, they should offer you a discount for all of your insurance needs.

Motor vehicle insurance companies also favour people who make sure that they have minimised the risk of theft and vandalism, by making sure that their vehicle is safe when not being used. Storing your motor vehicle off the road and fitting it with anti-theft devices, such as immobilisers and alarms, mean that your vehicle is less likely to be stolen or vandalised. As a result of this, there is less financial risk from the insurance company’s point of view, which in turn means that they can charge you less money.

The type of car or cars that you own is also another factor when it comes to an insurance company working out the cost of your insurance premiums. If you own a sports car or a luxury car then there is more chance of it being stolen or vandalised than an older car of less worth.

When the time comes to renew your car insurance then you need to make sure that you have a good clean credit history and that you have always paid your premiums on time. This will go some way to making your insurance premiums lower due to the fact that the insurance company will trust you to make you payments in full and on time.

With a little bit of time and effort on your part, you can say goodbye to the days when you paid a lot of your hard earned money on expensive car insurance policies, and switch to a lower tariff that gives you the same level of coverage.

Finding Cheaper Insurance For Luxury Vehicles

Posted on by

Even although car insurance is not mandatory in South Africa at present, it is still something that every driver really should think abut getting. It offers the driver peace of mind that in the even of an accident, theft, or hijacking, they will not be financially liable for any costs incurred. When the vehicle is a higher end model, like a sports car perhaps, this can be even more important. These luxury models are expensive and replacement parts and repairs can be very costly.

If you drive a high end vehicle, you must approach a selection of insurance providers so that you can compare quotes. The more valuable your vehicle, the more expensive your insurance premiums are likely to be, that makes it more important than ever to get a range of quotes so that you are able to get the best value for money. You may not want to opt for the cheapest car insurance quotes, but you should be able to evaluate your options and find out which one offers you the best value for your money. Instead of going through the process of obtaining quotes one by one, you can use autoinsurance.co.za to simply enter the required information once and we will look for the most suitable quotes from South Africa’s leading insurance providers.

Again, it is necessary to bear in mind that the cheapest quote is not always the best choice. What you are looking for is value for money. Think about what it is you want from your policy. If you want a higher excess then you can expect a lower monthly premium. Setting a higher excess is a good idea to keep car insurance quotes low if you drive an expensive sports car, but you must remember that you must be able to cover the cost of the excess in the event of a claim. It is a good idea to keep a small savings account for car related expenses to cover this.

The fact is, that if you have a sports car or luxury vehicle, the price you can expect to pay for monthly insurance premiums to be higher than for other vehicles. These cars are often faster and therefore seen as more of a risk for accidents. They may also be more attractive to potential thieves and hijackers. However, with a little research it is possible to find cheap car insurance quotes.

Fully Comprehensive Insurance

Posted on by

There are a lot of uninsured motor vehicles on the roads of South Africa at the moment. The reason for this is that motor vehicle insurance is not mandatory in the Republic at the present time.

There is only one way to guarantee that you are fully covered against all possibilities and that is to obtain fully comprehensive insurance from a specialist car insurance company.

Cheap Car Insurance in South Africa

Posted on by

According to a statistic, there are many road traffic accidents each day in South Africa and they can vary from the minor to something much more serious. Yet there are still many people who are driving without adequate motor vehicle insurance and it does not take a massive accident to cost you a lot of money when it comes to the repair bill.

For a lot of people, the reason that they do not have their motor vehicle insured is because they feel that the amount of money that they are expected to pay each month for their premium is too high. Because they feel that they would be paying too much money, this leads them to take the risk of driving without insurance, in the hope that they do not have an accident.

With the number of accidents taking place on South African roads increasing, now is the time to start looking for cheap car insurance. Because of the global financial problems that are affecting most people in some way, a lot of people are looking out for the best deals on their car insurance.

As with most insurance policies there is an excess to pay. This is the amount of money that you will be expected to pay towards the final repair bill of your vehicle before the insurance company pays out. The higher you set the excess limit when you first take out the policy, the lower your monthly payments will be on your insurance policy. Taking on a higher excess is a good idea if you are a safe driver and you live in an area that is considered to be safe as you are less likely to have an accident or have your car vandalised.

If you already have a car insurance policy, then when the time comes to renew it, you can often negotiate a new deal for less monthly payments. This is especially so if you have never made an insurance claim and have been a good and loyal customer for a number of years, as well as paying your premiums on time and in full every month. The majority of insurance companies will not want to risk losing you as a customer and will in all likelihood, offer you the same policy at a slightly reduced rate in order to keep your custom.

In South Africa as with most countries around the globe, all insurance policy premiums are tailored to suit the driving history and aptitude of the individual in question. For example, if you are aged under 25 years old, you can expect to pay more than someone older than 25, plus if you are a driver who has had a lot of accidents you can also expect to pay more each month.

In order to find the best motor vehicle insurance that suits your needs and circumstances, it is good idea to search for car insurance quotes online via the internet. That way you can expect to find suitable car insurance for a price you can afford.

Car insurance quote websites in South Africa

As a car owner in South Africa, you may be pleasantly surprised to learn that car insurance quotes are easier to come by than you may think. This article will explain how to go about obtaining the best car insurance quotes that suits not only the level of cover that you require, but also the amount of money you have available to spend on your monthly premiums.

There are several insurance company websites that are now available in South Africa. Whereas before anyone looking for motor vehicle insurance would have had to travel around in order to visit the offices of the individual companies in question. This used to be a thankless and not to mention, tedious task and it doesn’t come as any great surprise that a lot of motor vehicle owners decided not to bother with insurance at all. Another reason why motor vehicle owners decide not to opt for their own car insurance is that they are under the impression that the cost of the monthly payments will be too high. However, thanks to the rise in popularity of the internet, there are several insurance companies that are now able to offer their best prices online.

Having a car crash is something that can happen to any motor vehicle owner at any time, and the consequences can be difficult for everyone involved. If you have an accident and you do not have a fully comprehensive motor vehicle insurance policy, then you are going to be liable for the total cost of the repairs to your vehicle, as well as the possibility of being sued by the other party involved in the accident. On the other hand, when you have an accident and you have a motor vehicle insurance policy that gives you complete coverage, then all you will be expected to contribute is the amount of excess that the policy expects you to pay. The excess is the name for the amount of money that your insurance company wants you to pay towards the repair bill, prior to them paying out. The higher the excess, the lower your monthly payments towards the insurance policy will be.

When you are thinking about obtaining fully comprehensive motor vehicle insurance then you may start to feel a bit overwhelmed when it comes to finding the right policy that suits your requirements. However, there is a solution to this problem, and that is to find and use a website that compares all of the available insurance policies on one page.

These comparison websites, like ours, can help to take all of the hard work out of searching for the right insurance policy that not only gives you the type of cover that you are looking for but also one that fits in with your financial requirements or limitations.

With a little bit of research and time you can take all of the hassle out of finding the best fully comprehensive motor vehicle insurance. This will give you peace of mind, should the worse happen and you are involved in an accident, you will be fully covered.

Cheap Car Insurance For Young Drivers

Posted on by

The latest statistics indicated that young drivers under the age of 25 are most commonly listed as an additional driver on their parents’ car insurance policy. However, in recent months it has become increasingly noted that this age could well be increasing as more drivers up to the age of 31 years are listed on their parent’s policies rather than getting a policy of their own.

A car crash on Jagtvej in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The main reason for young drivers to do this is to save money on the costs associated with running a vehicle which seem to be spiraling ever upwards as countries around the globe experience economic downturns. This means that young drivers not just in South Africa, but in other countries as well, are trying to cut down on living costs. In addition to putting their names on the insurance policies, many young people are moving back into their parents’ homes as well.

Car insurance can be fairly expensive, especially for people under 25 who are classed as a high risk by insurance providers. Most countries have legal requirements for car insurance so younger drivers need to find ways to meet the cost. Here in South Africa, auto insurance is not yet mandatory which could tempt young drivers to opt out of securing cover unless they can take advantage of being added to their parents’ car insurance policies. Being added as a secondary driver is not that big of an issue, but it does come with certain guidelines which should be adhered to. The secondary driver is only allowed to drive occasionally, but many parents are actually adding their children onto car insurance policies in their names in order to get a cheaper deal when in fact the young person is the main driver. This can result in the policy being made void if this is uncovered by investigators. However, thanks to autoinsurance.co.za it is possible for young drivers to get cheap car insurance of their own.

Instead of having to spend time checking with multiple insurance providers, you should instead enter a few key pieces of information into our form and we will do all of the searching for you. We then return a list of viable options to you so that you can compare prices and policies. This allows you to find the most suitable cheap car insurance to meet your needs with a minimal amount of fuss.

Major Causes of Car Accidents

Posted on by

Every day, thousands of people like drivers, passengers and pedestrians die or suffer serious injuries because of negligence that leads to car accidents.

There are so many reasons why car accidents happen, but one of the most common reasons is driver’s error.

Authorities never failed on reminding people to be careful when driving or traveling, but even they remind us, accident that are caused by an individual’s negligence still cannot be avoided.

Let’s take a look at the major causes of car accidents:

Poorly Constructed Roads – Have you experienced driving on a surfaced road that felt like a dirt road or worse? Holes and unbalanced pavement can lead to serious car accidents, that you could be thrown off course and loss control of your vehicle.

Bad Weather – Many people don’t consider and don’t respect the weather when driving, another reason why many people met car accidents. Rain can absolutely cause loss of visibility, and make the road slippery that your car’s handling ability could be decreased; your survival chance in this kind of car accident is low.

Reckless driving and over-speeding – This is only great if you’re a competitor in the Grand Prix or NASCAR, but not on service roads and highways. Reckless driving and over-speeding are only for racers and for movie characters.

Remember that the faster you drive then the harder you can stop. Aggressive driving such as changing lanes and turning left or right without signaling lures accident instantly.

Driving Distractions – Distractions such as applying makeup, shaving, finding documents, picking up something, eating, changing CD and radio stations, calling and texting while on wheels, rubbernecking or arguing with someone while driving can cause a serious car accident. Always keep your eyes on the road when driving!

Drug Influence – Did anyone say bad habits can produce good results? If there is, that person is crazy, or maybe under drug influence! Taking illegal substances not only destroys the user, sometimes it can involve the person around the user. Like when driving, pedestrians get involved to car accidents because of the drugged driver’s negligence.

Drunk Driving – Just like driving while under drug influence. Alcohol related collision is one of the most irritating cases of car accident. One reason why some car insurance companies provide higher insurance premiums because of higher risks for the bad lifestyle that a car insurance policy holder’s has.

You Need Car Insurance in Cape Town

Posted on by

If you live in Jo’burg, you might think that “semigrating” to Cape Town is a far safer option when it comes to crime and security. This is not quite the case – it only gives one a false sense of security due to the fact that the pace is a lot slower and the ambiance a lot more relaxed. Car insurance in Cape Town is as important as anywhere else in SA.

Lock-up parking is also limited in this lovely city – yes the sea is stunning and so is Table Mountain – but there are also a lot of young people who drive old cars, and who don’t have lock up parking facilities. Old cars are often not worth insuring (so we often led to believe) as they are usually the “skedonks” that most youngsters and students drive.

Remember in Cape Town the desire to impress is not as important as it is in the more plastic environment of Johannesburg – you can get away with a couple of patches of rust on the paintwork on your car, and the primary reason for owning a car in Cape Town is to get from one end to another.

Another important reason to drive in Cape Town is to keep dry, due to copious amounts of rain

Because Cape Town is bursting with young people and students, all you need to impress chicks is a set of wheels that you don’t have to push – in Jo’burg you need a Beamer or more otherwise the chicks won’t even look at you! So whether you have a Beamer or a “skedonk” you need car insurance.

When looking at car insurance in Cape Town – if you do not want to pay for the whole enchilada – the bare minimum cover of third party, fire and theft is more than essential. And if your car is old – it is also important to fit it with a four-phase gear lock to deter theft.

The Lighter Side of Car Insurance

Posted on by

Car insurance, as we are all aware, is essential when driving on the roads in South Africa. Here are a couple of fun, tongue-in-cheek reasons why it is essential to have cover:

* South Africans brake as hard and as late as is humanly possible to test their ABS braking systems – the more you massage this pedal the better for both foot and car and other road users. The best part of all is when it starts to pulsate.

* If you do decide to indicate this is a dead give-away for the other motorists on the road – never indicate when driving in Durban, Johannesburg or Pretoria. If you do decide to use your indicators you will be regarded as an alien visitor.

* A safe distance is never that – it is usually filled with a bus, a couple of “bakkies” a BMW plus numerous taxis.

* Speed is essential when a light changes colour – this is one way of avoiding being hit by a taxi or two.

* If you are able to overtake on a solid white line this is a good sign that you are bold – but it is even better on the left – this way you will soon find out if other road users are focusing on what they are doing.

* Hoot as much as you can – the taxis do this so why can’t you?

* And do stop and gawp at any accident that might occur – these are best when there is a lot of blood, ten fire engines, and someone has been squashed under a truck. This is best done so that you can slow down the traffic and cause a disturbance and a traffic jam!

And you know that you live in SA when you produce a R100 note when you are stopped by a traffic officer instead of producing your driver’s license and you know a taxi can move twice the certified amount of passengers in one trip.

You also know that you wait at a green light to ensure that there are no taxis travelling in the opposite direction, and you are always most pleasantly surprised to find your car parked where you left it.

But on a more serious note – we do need car insurance in SA – unlike in the UK, it is surprising that this is not yet law.

BMW Insurance Will Give You Peace of Mind

Posted on by

So who needs insurance in SA? The answer is EVERYONE. If you are a driver in SA, and particularly one in Johannesburg, it is more a case of driving defensively than anything else, and if you are not lucky enough to dodge the taxis, the potholes, and the lights that are constantly out of order, and the chances are that you will need some type of insurance cover. BMW Insurance will offer you the kind of cover you deserve, and best of all is that BMW Financial Service is underwritten by Guardrisk Insurance and administered By Alexander Forbes.

Did you know the very first serious motor vehicle accident in SA took place on the 1st October 1903? The car was driven by Charles Garlick who was driving his father’s Darracq and who tried to cross a railway crossing in Maitland, only to discover that the opposite gate was closed  – and before he could retract his steps, they were hit by the Johannesburg Express barreling down on them at full speed. Interestingly enough all the passengers and the driver walked away with relatively mild injuries.

Thirty million people have died in motor-related vehicle accidents since the first motor accident happened in SA over a century ago. With stats such as these, it is therefore not surprising that insurance has become an essential part of our existence.

It is a well-recorded fact that the attitudes of motorists regarding rail crossings to be lackadaisical – and it seems as if little has changed since – an entire century later.

BMW insurance is there to assist should you be involved in an accident or if your car gets stolen. In SA it is really not advisable to have no cover at all – weigh up the options, do the sums and compare insurance packages and quotes online from a plethora of insurance companies to find the one that covers your individual needs.

Insurance: Peace of Mind for Car Owners

Posted on by

English: RTA or Vehicle Accident, in underpass...

In this day and age, people work extremely hard to earn the money they need to pay for all of the necessities, and extras people want in life. When it comes to spending your hard earned money on a vehicle you want to make sure that you do not get a scratch on it, much less get into an accident. Unfortunately, no matter how safely a car owner may drive, accidents do occur. When these accidents occur, if you are not insured you take the risk of having to pay large sums of money out of your own pocket to pay to not only repair the damage to your own vehicle, but also your medical expenses if needed. Additionally, if your accident involves hitting another vehicle, then you will be forced to pay for the repair on their vehicle as well.

Why deal with the stress of the potential financial hardships that you and your family can face in the event of an accident if you can prevent that. Car Insurance a Weight off your Mind

Car Insurance: a Weight off your Mind

Statistics show that there are scores of car collisions in South Africa everyday. However, only about thirty percent of the cars on South African roads have the necessary car insurance that they are required to by law. Because of this it can come as no surprise that the cost of a mending of a knock and a small number of scuffs can soon raise. This means that you may end up paying out a lot of your monthly disposable income in order to correct the damage.

It can appear inconsiderate not to obtain the essential insurance for your car for a practical payment each month. Regrettably, a lot of citizens believe auto cover is high-priced. Maybe these citizens believe that they will not have an accident.

This leads us directly back to the statistics because if those statistics are correct that there is an above average proportion of automobile accidents on South African roads every single day, then the probability of being involved in one of those accidents is disturbingly high. An individual should also take into contemplation that a great quantity of mishaps are the fault of the person driving the other vehicle. Then what do you do when the other driver does not have car insurance and also does not have the wherewithal to pay for the repair bill on your car? They may have been at fault but if they cannot cough up with a way to pay for the damage to your car to be put right, then it is going to be left to you to foot the bill, so it does not matter if you are the worlds most safe driver, there is always that chance that someone else will mess up and leave you to deal with the aftermath.

In wrapping up, it is to a certain extent apparent that the advantages of auto insurance significantly prevail over the supposed outlay. It may possibly give the impression of being not convenient to a person’s financial plan to be obliged to give funds each month for a situation that might not ever take place. In spite of that it is a trivial price to pay for the equanimity that comes with comprehending that you as a careful driver have the protection in the event of an accident that is either not your fault or is in fact a result of a mistake on your part.
